What are cookies and similar trackers?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. The same legal regime applies to other technologies that read or write data on your device, including local storage, IndexedDB, service worker storage, and pixel tags. Throughout this page we use “cookies” to refer to all of them.

Our approach

Fabrica is built around a strong privacy promise: no analytics on your tasks, no advertising trackers, no third-party tracking cookies. We only use storage that is strictly necessary to operate the website and the extension, plus a small number of trackers that ensure security at our edge.

Strictly necessary trackers do not require prior consent under article 82, paragraph 2 of the French Data Protection Act. Any future addition that falls outside this exemption will be gated behind a consent banner, and this page will be updated accordingly.

Trackers we currently use

fabrica_install

Local storage in the extension. Stores the random installation UUID. Lifetime: until uninstall. Purpose: rate limiting and abuse prevention. Strictly necessary.

fabrica_prefs

Local storage in the extension. Stores your preferences (theme, shortcuts). Lifetime: until you clear it. Purpose: personalization. Strictly necessary.

fabrica_skills

IndexedDB in the extension. Stores the markdown skill files. Lifetime: until you delete them. Purpose: deliver the service. Strictly necessary.

__cf_bm (Cloudflare)

Cookie set by Cloudflare on the website domain. Lifetime: 30 minutes. Purpose: bot management and protection against automated abuse. Strictly necessary.

cf_clearance (Cloudflare)

Cookie set when you complete a security challenge. Lifetime: up to 1 year. Purpose: confirm you are not a bot. Strictly necessary.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, X Pixel, or any equivalent advertising or analytics tracker. We do not embed third-party marketing scripts on the website.

Managing your preferences

You can block or delete cookies through your browser’s settings. Note that strictly-necessary cookies are required for the website and the extension to operate; blocking them may prevent Fabrica from working correctly.

To remove all data Fabrica stores in your browser, uninstall the extension or use the “Clear all data” action in the extension settings. To clear website cookies, use your browser’s “Clear browsing data” menu and select fabricacontrol.com.

Changes to this policy

If we add new trackers, replace a provider, or change the purposes listed above, we will update this page. The “Effective” date at the top reflects the latest revision.
